One of the objectives of the Brooklyn Chapter is to assist youth in the Brooklyn/Staten Island community through chapter programs aimed at increasing academic success and educational opportunities.

 

The Brooklyn Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is offering two $5,000 awards ($1,250 annual award over four years) to African-American students.  The Gwendolyn Bourne Scholarship will be awarded to high scholastic students and the Karen Marshe Scholarship will be awarded to high achieving or talented students.  

The applicant must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior who attends a Brooklyn or Staten Island high school

  • Reside in Brooklyn or Staten Island

  • Have applied for college admission

  • Have demonstrated exemplary achievement in the areas of leadership and service in the community

  • Maintain good academic standing (B/3.0 average or better) while attending a four-year college full-time
